The Salish Sea on a 30 centimetre clock face: Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, the Strait of Georgia and the run south into Puget Sound, charted in birch and fitted with a quartz movement.

The bathymetry etched into the face follows the real depths of the sea, which reach more than 600 metres in Bute Inlet. Victoria, Vancouver and the island chains are laser-marked across the surface, and the water layer is hand-stained to separate it from the land.

It reads as a clock from across the room and as a chart up close.

Size: 30.5 cm (12") diameter

Points of interest on the Salish Sea clock:

This product is going to blow the person's mind that I'm going to give it to! It's very well done. And I like the size of it. I was expecting it to be a little smaller but I love it so much. It's great! Thank you thank you. She's going to love it! Super fast shipping in the item. Looks to be really good quality.

Quite an impressive item.

This is a beautiful clock, sadly it has been marred by the protective wood packaging. I have attached the photos here.

V

Good quality but background is too dark to see the hands of the clock.
Very difficult to tell the time.
Disappointed
I added small dots on the end of the hour and minute hands. Helps a little but not enough to make it easy to see.

This is even more gorgeous in-person. The level-of-detail is incredible.

The clock hands tick incredibly quietly - you'd have to have your ear right up on it to hear it.

The item itself is great but the listed shipping time is not accurate and I specifically ordered from this seller because of their listed shipping time. When the item didn't arrive and I asked the seller they did not seem concerned at all it was going to be weeks late. It arrived well past when we needed it which completely defeated the purpose of ordering it in the first place.

Questions before you order

Is it a print?

No. The maps are built from separate layers of Baltic birch, each cut to a real depth contour and stacked, so you can feel every step. The clocks have the shorelines cut and set on top, with the depth contours etched into the wood.

How big is it?

The wall maps are 78.7 × 62.2 cm (31 × 24.5 in), framed. Lake Erie is 78.7 × 33 cm (31 × 13 in). The clocks are 30.5 cm (12 in) across.

When will it arrive?

It ships the business day after you order, with tracking by email. Transit is 1 to 2 business days in the GTA, 2 to 3 to Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City, 3 to 5 to the Prairies, Alberta and the Maritimes, 4 to 6 to British Columbia and 5 to 8 to Newfoundland.

Will I pay duties or brokerage?

No. It ships from Mississauga, Ontario, so it never crosses a border. GST/HST is added at checkout, like any Canadian store.

What if it isn't right?

Return it within 30 days, unused and in its original packaging, for a refund of the item price. Email us first and we'll send a return label. If it arrives damaged, email a photo and your order number within 14 days of delivery and we replace it or refund you in full.
